Job summary

GCIL South Lanarkshire is seeking a Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker to assist a young man with a Physical Disability, Learning Disability and Epilepsy, and a young woman with Autism, in their family home in Stonehouse. You will provide one-to-one support, enabling participation in community activities and daily living tasks.

The role includes occasional evenings, Fridays 6.30pm–9.30pm, some weekends; a driver with own vehicle is required (mileage paid).

Qualifications

• The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Hours of Work: guaranteed permanent position of 10 hours per week; Fridays and flexibility to discuss interview.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with emergency medication.
• Assisting and participating in chosen activities.
• Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair (only for long distance walks).
• Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
• Driver essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid.
