Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant for Speedwell Court, Southampton. 36 hours per week across 12-hour shifts, including alternate weekends, in a role focused on compassionate, person-centred care for older residents.

You will support residents with daily activities, promote dignity and independence, and work within a values-led team to deliver high-quality care. Eligibility to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• No prior care experience required, attitude and values matter most.
• Eligibility to work in the UK required; Enhanced DBS check required (paid by Abbeyfield).
• Ability to work 36 hours per week across 12-hour shifts, including alternate weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred personal care (washing, dressing, eating, mobility).
• Support residents with daily activities while promoting dignity and independence.
• Maintain accurate care plans, communicate with team, and uphold safety and confidentiality.
