Job summary

The London Clinic is seeking an organised and caring Patient Support Coordinator to join our Cancer Services team. You will manage referrals and appointments for patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and haematology care, working closely with nursing teams, pharmacy, consultants and secretaries to keep treatment plans on track.

This permanent, full-time role offers a busy, patient-centred environment where you provide clear information, compassionate support and a professional service

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience in a busy administrative role.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage several priorities and work accurately under pressure.
  • Experience entering and maintaining accurate information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a professional telephone manner.
  • A caring and patient focused approach.
  • The confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients through the referral and appointment process for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and haematology services.
  • Contact patients within 24 hours of receiving a referral and explain what will happen next.
  • Book and co ordinate appointments, making sure treatment schedules are organised accurately and on time.
  • Work closely with nursing teams, pharmacy, consultants, secretaries and other departments to keep patients' care moving smoothly.
  • Gather medical records, images and previous treatment information from other teams and hospitals.
  • Check that insurance approval or self payment arrangements are in place before appointments are booked.
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient information on our hospital systems.
  • Handle all patient information sensitively and confidentially.
  • Provide patients with a professional, compassionate and reassuring service throughout their care.
