Job summary

Campbell Grove Talent are working exclusively with a Leeds-based SME to recruit a Company Accountant into their Head Office team. You will partner with the Finance Manager to manage day-to-day accounting, monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns, while developing the finance function and improving controls.

The role offers circa £45k, 25 days holiday, onsite parking and ongoing development opportunities for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, commercially minded and willing to get involved across the finance function.
• Ideally PQ/QBE with a broader SME role.
• You’ll need to be comfortable taking ownership and working independently.
• Be part of the business, not just producing numbers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce variance analysis and reporting.
• Post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support year-end accounts process.
• Manage ledgers and ensure accuracy of financial information.
• Assist with VAT returns.

Campbell Grove Talent are working exclusively with a Leeds based SME who are looking to recruit a Company Accountant into their Head Office team.

If you're an accountant who likes being close to the numbers, the people and the business, this could be a great opportunity.

Partnering with the Finance Manager you'll be involved in the day-to-day accounting and play an important part in help develop the finance function.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Producing variance analysis
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Supporting the year-end accounts process
• Managing the ledgers
• Reviewing financial information and helping ensure the numbers are accurate
• Providing support with ad-hoc analysis and reporting
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Working closely with the auditors
• Developing and looking at ways to improve financial controls and processes
• Ad hoc project work

• Someone who is hands-on, commercially minded and happy getting stuck in.
• Ideally you will be PQ/ QBE looking for a broader SME role.
