Job summary

Healthcare Plus Homecare Services Ltd is seeking compassionate companionship workers to support clients in their own homes across East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire, including Galston. Roles involve non-clinical, non-medical assistance with daily living and social interaction.

The position requires reliability, empathy and a friendly, can-do attitude, with hours 9:30am–8pm on weekdays and some weekends; drivers and non-drivers welcome.

Salary: Automatic Pension Enrolment, Supportive Manager, Training and Development

To carry out a Companionship Service in a service user's own home and within the local community for our Clients. We cover the whole of East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire with this service. These calls are carried out in blocks of hours for our clients. No personal care, moving or handling nor medication is involved with this service. We are looking for individuals who are able to work between the hours of 9.30am and 8pm weekdays and possibly every second weekend with our Clients.

Duties:

• To provide a high standard, person-centered of Support to clients at all times in a non-judgmental or discriminatory manner
• Providing a positive and friendly approach to Clients in their own homes and respectful of their wishes at all times with a "can-do" attitude
• Communicating with our clients at all levels and being able to problem-solve at times to assist them with any concerns
• Ability to work on own initiative, being reliable and flexible to meet the needs of our Clients
• To be extremely reliable, friendly and sociable with our Clients
• Ensure written records and care plans are maintained and updated where applicable
• Interacting and communicating with the people that you support in a way that promotes dignity, choice and respect at all times
• Assisting with basic meal preparation for the service users we support
• Work as part of a team at all times and respectful of the service users’ homes within which you will be working
• Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the clients, whilst maintaining your own health and safety in accordance with our Health and Safety Regulations
• To adhere to the Regulatory bodies in Scotland governing our industry - Basic Disclosure Scotland - and to ensure that all relevant training is continued by each companion as part of this adherence, and to comply with such requests made by Healthcare Plus Recruitment Homecare Services Ltd.

We are looking for drivers and non-drivers for our Clients in the Galston area.Excellent knowledge of Galston and the surrounding areas would be ideal in order to take our Clients out and about as and when requested, in cars, local transport and via walking with mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, rollators, etc.Previous experience of working within the Health and Social care sector would be advantageous but not mandatory to work within this serviceYou must be able to demonstrate empathy towards our ClientsA flexible, can-do, positive attitude is a must for this serviceAbility to interact comfortably with new people is a requirement for this serviceYou do not need a qualification to perform this roleYou must be willing to undergo a Basic Disclosure for this role (your cost)Being able to build up trust and excellent professional working relationships are a must for this roleTo act in a professional, friendly and approachable manner at all times and adhere to Health and Safety requirements for our Clients and their homes/property at all times
