Job summary

Burnley FC in the Community is recruiting a Community Welfare and Inclusion Officer to deliver a busy programme across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire. You will use sport to engage under-represented groups and promote health, wellbeing and opportunity through community projects.

The role requires GCSEs in Maths/English, a Level 2 Youth Work qualification (or equivalent), safeguarding experience and a commitment to equality and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/Level 4 or above.
  • Level 2 qualification in Youth Work or related discipline, or working towards.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring or supporting people in a community, education, sport or youth work setting.
  • Experience of working with disadvantaged individuals or under-represented groups.
  • Experience applying safeguarding practices and procedures.
  • Prioritises workload effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Communicates positively with clarity and understanding, adapting approach to audience.
  • Builds positive relationships and collaborates with colleagues across teams.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Willingness to attend training courses to enhance development.

Responsibilities

  • Engage, inspire and empower people to reach their full potential.
  • Support delivery of Veterans, Health & Wellbeing, Targeted Intervention and Youth Engagement programmes.
  • Work with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Promote projects in schools and community settings to meet KPI targets.
  • Generate ideas to develop the department while maintaining high delivery quality.
  • Target areas of greatest need and respond to community needs.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local, regional and national organisations.
  • Promote Burnley FC in the Community to attract diverse participants and KPI achievement.
  • Ensure safeguarding, risk assessments and health and safety procedures are in place.
  • Lead on data collection and ensure Salesforce reporting is up to date.
  • Understand and implement safeguarding policy and promote a safe environment.
  • Work flexible hours including occasional match days.
  • Work towards agreed objectives and comply with policies.
  • Promote brand ethos and support other areas as required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
