Job summary

Mole Valley District Council is recruiting Community Transport Drivers based in Leatherhead and Dorking to serve Mole Valley’s communities. You will drive for Mole Valley Life, offering door-to-door bus services for older and vulnerable residents and members of the public, including Surrey Connect Demand Response Transport using compact electric minibuses.

Full in-house minibus training is provided, along with a free uniform.

Qualifications

• D1 category driving licence as minimum requirement.
• First Aid at Work trained or capable of passing the qualification.
• Knowledge of local area and interest in driving.

Responsibilities

• Drive for Mole Valley Life and Surrey Connect Demand Response Transport.
• Provide door-to-door bus services for older and vulnerable residents and the public.
• Operate with a caring, courteous manner and ensure passenger safety.

Job description

Mole Valley Life supports people who may require assistance in their everyday lives, to remain independent and connected to their communities.

We are currently recruiting for Community Transport Drivers. You will be driving for our local communities, providing a range of services including door-to-door bus services for Mole Valley's older and vulnerable residents, and members of the public working in the area including our Community Transport service and new compact electric minibuses for the Surrey Connect Demand Response Transport service. Minibus training will be provided together with a free uniform.

The post is based in Leatherhead and Dorking, although you will be required to work throughout the Mole Valley area. The Council offers excellent conditions of service and a friendly working environment.

Many of our Community Transport members require assistance and therefore drivers need to be physically fit with a caring and enthusiastic personality.

What we are looking for from you

• Knowledge of the local area and an interest in driving
• Flexibility around working patterns - Willingness to work Weekends and Bank Holidays
• To have a caring, considerate, and courteous manner
• Have a D1 category driving licence as minimum requirement.
• First Aid at Work trained or be capable of passing the First Aid at Work qualification
