Job summary

Nelson and Colne College Group is seeking a Community Teacher to deliver Counselling Skills on Levels 2 and 3, with a workload including online learner caseloads through our online platform. Based at The Waterside Centre in Accrington, travel across Lancashire is required.

Shortlisted candidates will complete a 20-minute microteach. The role suits experienced practitioners or newly qualified teachers, working within an Outstanding organisation that supports learner progression into Health & Care

Qualifications

• GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English is required.
• Degree or higher-level qualification in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification is required.
• Recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one within 3 years) is required.
• Driving licence and access to own vehicle to travel across Lancashire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all elements of substantial career focussed programmes including: teaching, mentoring, learner reviews, timely feedback and assessment.
• Plan and prepare high-quality teaching and learning for primarily classroom and some online delivery/assessment.
• Develop and share resources with the team.
• Support, develop and assess learner work on accredited provision at a range of levels.
• Complete reviews of learner progress towards achievement of individual learning goals.
• Contribute towards the quality assurance processes of the team.

The Exciting Role

We are looking for a talented and student focused Community Teacher to join our enthusiastic Health & Social Care team on a full-time basis, delivering on our Counselling programmes at Levels 2 and 3. The individual will also manage a caseload of online learners, accessing the learning and assessment remotely via our online platform.

Delivering various courses to adult learners, the ideal candidate will focus on embracing the College ethos that every learner will achieve their full potential and positively represent the College both internally and externally at all times. Programmes are aimed at individuals aiming to progress into the Health and Care sector or prepare them for further and higher education towards employment in a range of pathways.

This role will be based at our Waterside Centre in Accrington however, travel across Lancashire will be required.
