Job summary

VMCH is looking for a compassionate Home Care Assistant to support older clients in St Albans and surrounding suburbs. You will assist with personal care, meal preparation, light household tasks and accompany clients to appointments, helping them live independently.

This casual role offers flexible hours across at least three weekdays, with a focus on dignity, safety and community-based care. VMCH supports development, wellbeing and inclusive work culture.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community, or Disability) or equivalent.
• A current driver’s licence and access to a fully insured (comprehensive) vehicle for travel between client homes.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid, CPR & Police check.
• Genuine respect for the dignity and independence of older people.
• Strong verbal communication and the ability to work autonomously in a community setting.
• Availability across a flexible casual roster, including some early mornings.

About the Role

• Flexible casual hours
• Availability required for at least three weekdays between 7am-6pm
• Support clients in St Albans and surrounding suburbs

About you

You have a genuine passion for supporting older members of the community and take pride in creating meaningful, positive experiences in their daily lives. With strong communication skills, you build trusting relationships and support clients to maintain their independence and achieve their personal goals.
