We are currently seeking a RN to join the Community Nursing service. The role involves providing holistic nursing care to adult patients in their own home or residential care setting. Successful applicants will be required to hold a first-level nursing registration with the NMC, and additional role-specific training can be provided.
The Community nursing team provides both planned and reactive care, including Urgent Community Response.

You must be able to produce ALL certificates stated as essential in the person specification, or you will not be able to complete pre-employment checks.
We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield, and Weardale, as well as over 80 other community-based settings and patients' homes.

From April 9th, 2025 - Healthcare assistants - You must have a minimum of two years of experience working within the NHS as an HCA for the Trust to consider sponsorship. We will only consider sponsorship if you meet this criterion and have a current visa expiring within 3 months.
The successful candidate will provide a variety of nursing care to patients, including wound care, administration of medication, palliative care, and management of bowel and catheter care. The role involves assessment of patient care needs, care planning, delivery of care, and review. The successful candidate will be required to work independently as part of the wider Nursing team, reporting back to senior staff on duty.
