Job summary

Wickersley Partnership Trust (Central Team) invites applications for a Community Sports Development Manager. The role leads end-to-end physical activity projects in Rotherham, with a strong emphasis on external funding and stakeholder collaboration.

The 18-month fixed-term contract offers a competitive salary band and hybrid working arrangements. Reporting to the Strategic Lead, you will manage cross-functional projects across schools and coordinate with education, health, and community partners

Qualifications

• Proven track record of managing and delivering projects in school sports, community health, education, or youth services.
• Experience in externally funded project budgets, KPIs, and reporting to funders.
• Strong relationship management and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Experience with project management frameworks, risk registers, and timelines.
• Ability to design monitoring systems and present impact data to boards.
• Deep understanding of physical activity landscape and inequalities.
• Excellent time management and adaptability in dynamic settings.
• Clear written and verbal communication for reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Project Lifecycle Management: Plan, execute, and monitor physical activity projects from inception through completion, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards, milestones, and objectives.
• Framework Implementation & Strategic Rollout: Lead the end-to-end implementation of the CAS Framework across Rotherham schools—managing change strategies to embed inclusive physical activity into school culture.
• Grant & External Investment Management: Oversee funded initiatives, tracking performance against grant agreements, milestones, and reporting schedules.
• Stakeholder & Partner Governance: Build, lead, and manage networks across schools, local authority departments, healthcare providers, and community partners to ensure aligned execution.
• Community Pathways & Exit Strategy Project Work: Design sustainable pathways linking schools with community sports clubs, managing partner capacity for long-term active habits beyond school days.
• User-Centred Project Design: Integrate pupil voice and community insight into project scope to create inclusive interventions.
• Barriers & Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate participation barriers through targeted project interventions.
• Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Reporting: Implement evaluation frameworks using data and KPIs to measure performance and inform commissioning.
