Job summary

The Harbour Medical Practice in Sussex is seeking a Sonographer to deliver a community ultrasound service with direct GP referrals across Sussex. You will independently perform and report ultrasound exams of abdomen, pelvis, urinary tract, and scrotal areas, maintaining imaging records and travelling to other community settings.

HCPC registration as a sonographer and a post-graduate qualification in medical ultrasound are required.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate qualification in medical ultrasound is required.
• HCPC registration as a sonographer is essential.
• Experience as a sonographer in varied clinical settings desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a community ultrasound service with direct referral access for GPs across Sussex.
• Independently perform and report abdominal ultrasound (liver, gallbladder, abdominal aorta).
• Independently perform and report pelvic, urinary tract, scrotal and testicular ultrasound (kidneys and bladder).
• Travel to other local community settings from a main base.
• Oversee set-up of new clinic space and contribute to service development.
• Maintain imaging records and reports.
• Work autonomously, reporting on own workload.
