Job summary

Lancaster City Council is seeking a Community Projects Officer to oversee the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, working with partners to safeguard and deliver high-quality services for children and families in Lancaster.

Join us as a Community Projects Officer and play a vital role in delivering the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, supporting children and families during key holiday periods.You’ll contribute to enhancing community health and wellbeing by working closelywith partners and helping shape the Healthy Communities Strategy. Your workwill ensure safeguarding and high-quality services that make a real differenceacross Lancaster.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will manage the day-to-day running of the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, acting as the main contact for Lancaster City Council and liaising with delivery partners. Your responsibilities include contract administration, monitoring project performance, conducting quality assurance checks, and leading safeguarding efforts. You’ll also design communications to raise awareness, identify development opportunities, and support community and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

You have experience ingrant funding and coordinating programmes, with strong skills in multi-agencyworking and communication . Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload are key. You’ll thrive working collaboratively, showing ambition and pride in delivering excellent community services, while taking ownership of your role. Local Government Reorganisation

The Government hasconfirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with thecurrent 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North,South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successfulin your application, you will initially join Lancaster City Council. However,as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of thenew unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisationand relevant employment legislation.
