Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Community Mental Health Team in Helensburgh. You will manage a defined caseload, deliver specialist mental health care in the community and provide leadership and supervision to colleagues within a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves coordinating with GPs, care services and partner agencies to promote recovery, assess risks and contribute to service development.

Qualifications

• Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development and commitment to lifelong learning.
• Experience of working within adult mental health services and managing a clinical caseload.
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills with the ability to build effective professional relationships.
• Experience of providing supervision, guidance or leadership to nursing colleagues within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to assess risk, make autonomous clinical decisions and manage complex situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload providing comprehensive assessment, care planning, review and discharge arrangements for service users.
• Deliver specialist mental health nursing care to individuals with complex health and social care needs within the community.
• Provide leadership, supervision and clinical support to registered and unregistered nursing staff.
• Liaise effectively with GPs, primary care teams, social care, voluntary agencies and other partners to coordinate care.
• Assess and manage clinical and environmental risks while supporting safe and effective service delivery.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare high‑quality reports to support patient care and service requirements.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and the implementation of evidence‑based practice.
