Community Mental Health Nurse Band 5 to 6 Development post
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Community Mental Health Nurse (Band 5 -6 Development Post) to join our Assessment and Treatment Service in Chichester. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist assessment, treatment, and care to a caseload of individuals with various mental health issues from the local community. Candidates should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, and committed to the recovery model.

We understand that starting your first clinical role can be both exciting and daunting. To support you, we have established our Preceptorship Academy, designed specifically for newly qualified clinicians to facilitate a smooth transition. Through supervision and assessment, you will be supported to practice safely and build confidence during your first 12 months.

The Chichester Assessment and Treatment Service is a dynamic community mental health team supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions. You will manage a caseload within a recovery-focused care model aimed at promoting independence and positive coping strategies. Collaboration with a diverse team of clinicians, support staff, psychologists, psychiatrists, and third-sector partners is essential.

This role focuses on improving outcomes for patients by working creatively with them and their carers to co-create care and risk plans aligned with their goals, promoting independence. Building effective partnerships with GPs, crisis teams, housing, and third-sector providers is crucial, as is referring patients to specialized services such as Early Intervention in Psychosis or Eating Disorders when appropriate.

Salary: £29,970 to £44,962 per year, pro-rata for part-time roles.
