Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a Link Worker to join Castle Douglas Community Support Service. The post involves delivering person-centered care to adults at home and in the community, with the Enhanced Outreach Service expanding to families in crisis.

You will report to a Support Coordinator and contribute to planning, reviews, and information recording. A current driving licence is essential; PVG checks apply. Salary Band 5: £28,815–£30,597.

Qualifications

• SVQ 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience of paid or unpaid work with people with additional support needs.
• Team player committed to supporting and enabling people to live fulfilled lives.
• Current driving licence is essential; alternative transport considered if not available.
• Ability to use basic computer applications; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to people in their own homes.
• Assist people to access community opportunities to develop skills and promote independence.
• Contribute to personal planning, reviews, and team meetings; recording information electronically.
• Support families and respond to crisis situations as part of the outreach service.
• Work a 36-hour week; participate in flexible patterns to promote work/life balance.
