Job summary

Sense is seeking an Intervenor in Exeter who will provide one-to-one support to adults who are congenitally deafblind, deaf or blind, promoting independence and facilitating communication with the world around them.

You’ll mainly work in the community, clients’ homes, a community centre, or vocational settings; a UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance are essential, with mileage reimbursed.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to promote independence and support people to access communities.
  • Comfortable with lone working and taking initiative within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support tailored to each person's needs.
  • Help people access communities and participate in activities.
  • Encourage independence and help develop social networks.
  • Advocate for individuals and contribute to person-centred plans.
