Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a compassionate Healthcare Assistant for Surrey Downs Health & Care. You will support a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and dignified community-based care, while developing skills in a supportive learning environment that values teamwork.

We’re looking for individuals who can demonstrate empathy, maintain patient confidentiality, and assist with nursing tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Care Certificate recognised and applied in daily patient care.
• Ability to communicate with tact, empathy and clarity.
• Commitment to patient privacy, dignity and safety.

Responsibilities

• Practice the Care Certificate and support junior staff to achieve the standards.
• Communicate with tact, empathy, overcome barriers to understanding.
• Assist with nursing care as instructed by registered nursing staff, including toileting/elimination.
• Care for patient clothing, property and valuables per Trust policies.
• Assist with moving and handling of patients using appropriate aids.
• Ensure patient privacy and dignity and maintain a safe environment.
• Demonstrate awareness of patient confidentiality and secure surroundings.
