Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a community nurse to support the nursing team in delivering safe patient care within a community setting, largely without direct supervision.

The post requires flexible shifts across 5 days per week, with 36-hour hours and a focus on a wide range of delegated nursing activities, including hygiene, medication administration, wound care and palliative support.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work with people and as part of a team.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Full drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the nursing team in delivering effective patient care within a community setting.
• Undertake a varied workload of delegated nursing activities including hygiene, medications, wound care and palliative/supportive care.
• Support community clinics, stock control, record keeping and induction of new staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and participate in audits and multidisciplinary working.
