Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde invites applications for a Band 5 Staff Nurse in Inverclyde HSCP - Community Adult Nursing. Fixed term 1 year, 36 hours per week over 5 days. The post supports asylum seekers and refugees, providing health screening, holistic care and collaboration with GPs and out-of-hours services.

Candidates must be a first level registered nurse with post-registration experience, NMC registered, PVG disclosure, and hold a full driving licence to support home visits in Inverclyde.

Qualifications

• 1st level registered nurse with significant post-registration experience.
• NMC registration must be confirmed before start.
• PVG/Disclosure Scotland check required.
• Full driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Band 6 nurse in providing health screening and assessment to New to Scotland Refugees or Asylum Seekers within Inverclyde.
• Work collaboratively with all team members to provide effective and holistic nursing care to a designated caseload within asylum health and community nursing.
• Rotation within Inverclyde locality anticipated as service demands.
• Link and liaise effectively with GP and OOH medical colleagues via NHS 24 and Scottish Ambulance Service; provide guidance to unregistered staff.
