Job summary

Auchinleck Community Development Initiative is seeking a Facilities Assistant to help run The Boswell Centre. The role involves opening and closing procedures, welcoming users and the public, and ensuring the centre is secure, clean and safe for the local community.

Shifts are offered mainly in the evenings and weekends with occasional daytime work. This is a community-facing position centered on supporting a welcoming, well-maintained centre for residents and groups in Auchinleck.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the Boswell Centre, including the appropriate use of keys and security systems.
• Following established opening, closing and shutdown procedures.
• Welcoming and assisting customers, Centre users and members of the public.
• Checking and operating building security and alarm systems.
• Setting up and operating audio-visual equipment as required.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and general presentation of the Centre, including basic tidying and cleaning where required.
• Reporting faults, maintenance issues or other concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
• Assisting with routine fire safety checks and other basic building safety procedures.
• Supporting the smooth running of the Centre and helping to ensure it remains a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
