Job summary

East Lancashire Learning Group is seeking a Community Teacher for Functional Skills English to deliver engaging adult English programmes. The role involves teaching Functional Skills English and ESOL where needed, and preparing learners for accreditation, with a focus on learner achievement and inclusivity.

The post is based at Lancashire Adult Learning, with travel across Lancashire and a commitment to high standards in an Outstanding organisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification.
• Recognised teaching qualification (or willing to achieve within 3 years).
• A higher degree or advanced qualification.
• Successful teaching experience in a relevant subject area.
• Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully.
• Learner centred approach to teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Teach on a range of programmes delivering effective learning (English).
• Plan and prepare high quality teaching and learning.
• Develop and share resources with the team.
• Prepare learners for accreditation, where appropriate.
• Complete reviews of learner progress towards achievement of individual learning goals.
• Ensure provision is aligned with best practice in community learning.
