Job summary

Ledbury Town Council is seeking an enthusiastic Community Development Officer to strengthen community participation and support community-led activity in Ledbury. The role is office-based, 30 hours per week, permanent, and salary SCP 19-25 (£33,119-£37,563).

Key duties include building relationships with local organisations, planning and delivering events, identifying funding opportunities and promoting initiatives through Council communications.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with community organisations, voluntary groups or partnership projects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to coordinate projects and events.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships with community organisations, volunteers and partner agencies.
• Support planning and delivery of Council and community events.
• Help local organisations identify funding opportunities and develop projects.
• Encourage volunteering, partnership working and community participation.
• Assist with event management plans and risk assessments.
• Promote community initiatives through newsletters and Council communications.
• Support administration of the Council’s community grants programme.
