Job summary

The Churches Conservation Trust is seeking a Community Engagement Officer, North, to support 20 historic churches across the North by engaging communities and volunteers, coordinating events, interpretation, visitor services, and preventive conservation. This is a permanent, homebased role with regular travel within the North region.

You will work within regional teams, align with our values, and contribute to outreach, fundraising, and volunteering initiatives.

Job Title: Community Engagement Officer – North

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 36 hours per week, plus pension and benefits

Salary: £30,300 per annum, plus pension and benefits

Location: Homebased with regular travel across the North

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our regional teams, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 20 historic churches across the North ( Cumbria,Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester – North,West Yorkshire ), ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

We have attached the pack, outlining each value, which we will also be using as part of our shortlisting and interview process to find the right candidates that align with our values.
