Job summary

Canal & River Trust is looking for an Engagement Coordinator for a 5-month part-time temporary role. The position focuses on connecting people with waterways, coordinating volunteering and environmental projects, and delivering wellbeing activities across the North West.

You will lead community engagement, recruit volunteers, and collaborate with partners to create inclusive opportunities near canals and rivers.

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement and volunteering environments.
• Experience delivering community and volunteering projects.
• Experience in youth engagement.
• Ability to work with diverse groups including minority or marginalised communities.
• Effective communication with varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver activities directly for children, youth and local community groups.
• Recruit, train and support volunteers including youth volunteers.
• Deliver Trust initiatives such as the Lets programme and other place-based projects.
• Co-create activities and volunteering opportunities to improve health and wellbeing.
• Conduct consultations and research within the community including underrepresented groups.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and communities and ensure inclusion.
• Prepare progress and financial reports for monitoring and evaluation.
• Collaborate with regional directors to develop scalable models for the Trust.
