Job summary

NHSGGC in Glasgow is recruiting for full-time Staff Nurses to join the NE District Nursing Service. You will provide high-quality, culturally sensitive nursing care to patients in the community, working with families, carers and other agencies.

A live NMC UK pin is essential; there is a 36-hour-per-week contract, 8am-8pm shifts, and weekend/public holiday rota. A driving licence and PVG disclosure are required.

Qualifications

• Part 1 NMC Registration, or 2nd Level Registration with General Nursing Experience
• Continuing professional development evidence
• Evidence of Revalidation
• IT skills - word processing, email, internet
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Leadership and teamwork abilities
• Problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement programmes of care as directed by district nurse
• Collaborate with patients, family, carers and others to develop evidence-based care plans
• May assume caseload responsibility during sickness, absence and annual leave
• Utilise risk assessment tools to identify risks and interventions
• Report and participate in incident investigations and audits to improve practice
• Support patients, families and carers to achieve health and independence
• Plan workload, delegate tasks, and ensure patient needs are met
• Support 24-hour nursing service continuity
• Provide care in Treatment Room or Health Centre settings
• Lead and model professional practice within NHSGGC values
