Job summary

Gateshead Health is recruiting a Band 5 Community Staff Nurse to join a Locality Team in Gateshead. You will deliver high-quality nursing care in the community, across multiple settings, working with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a registered nurse with at least 2 years RN experience; post-registration development and community experience are desirable. Service hours are 8am–8pm, 7 days a week, with flexible duties to meet local needs.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with current registration in the UK.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required.
• Post-registration experience and ongoing professional development are desirable.
• Desirable to have evidence of experience in a community setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality patient care in the community under supervision of a senior nurse/practitioner.
• Deliver hands-on care to patients in community settings.
• Maintain standards of care through evaluating and applying evidence-based practice.
• Delegate work according to skill mix while maintaining safety in the community.
• Support development of other staff and the service.
• Assess health needs of patients, families and carers in their homes.
• Treat diseases per agreed medical protocols under supervision.
• Plan, provide and evaluate nursing care to meet care needs of individuals and carers.
• Engage in reflective practice to maintain knowledge and development.
