This post holder will drive strategies, action plans and community-based interventions to tackle inequalities and improve outcomes for residents, with a focus on enabling healthier, more active, resilient communities across Bridgend.

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Community Development Team within the Prevention and Wellbeing Service. This is a key leadership role, responsible for developing and delivering strategies, action plans and community-based interventions that tackle inequalities and improve outcomes for our residents. The postholder will play a pivotal role in driving forward the Council's Prevention and Wellbeing agenda, with a strong emphasis on enabling healthier, more active and resilient communities across Bridgend. You will lead collaborative working locally, regionally and nationally, and oversee the operational management of:

• Child & Families Community Support services
• Adults & Young Carers Wellbeing Service
• Age Friendly Communities programme
• Play Sufficiency Duty

As a member of the Prevention and Wellbeing Service Management Team, you will contribute to service-wide performance, transformation and partnership delivery aligned to corporate priorities. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
