Job summary
Access Sport is seeking a Community Coordinator in London to support youth leadership and club development within city clubs. You will visit clubs, organise local events, deliver training, and ensure young people’s voices shape practice on the ground.
This hybrid role requires evenings/weekends availability. You will collaborate with Youth Advisors and coaches, helping young people progress into leadership, coaching, volunteering and governance pathways through sport.
Qualifications
- Experience of supporting, volunteering or helping out at local community sports clubs or teams.
- A strong interest in youth voice, youth leadership and coproduction approaches.
- A passion for empowering underserved and disabled groups to reach their potential through sport.
- Understanding the barriers that may affect participation in community sport.
- Understanding safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
- Good communication skills and confidence engaging with young people, coaches and community partners.
Responsibilities
- Delivery and club development: Work directly with community sports clubs to support the delivery of youth leadership and youth voice activity.

We do this by training, equipping, and supporting community sports clubs, organisations, and volunteers to provide inclusive programmes, unleashing their potential to transform the lives of underserved young people in their local communities.

In 2025/26 Access Sport engaged over 40,000 disadvantaged and disabled young people, with a strong representation from ethnically diverse communities, girls, and previously less active young people.

Access Sport is looking for a Community Coordinator to support the delivery of our growing youth leadership and club development work in London. This is an exciting opportunity to play a hands‑on role in helping community sports clubs create meaningful opportunities for young people to lead, shape, and influence the activities and communities they are part of.
This role sits within a new and evolving national approach to youth voice and youth leadership, designed to embed co‑production and shared decision‑making across community sport. You will work directly with local clubs to help them develop inclusive environments where young people are supported to take on leadership roles, share their views, and progress into coaching, volunteering, advocacy and governance pathways.
The postholder will work closely with our Youth Advisors, club volunteers and coaches to support the practical delivery of youth leadership activity. This will include club visits, helping to organise local events, delivering training, and ensuring that young people’s voices actively shape practice at a local level.
This is a highly delivery‑focused role, best suited to someone who enjoys being in community settings, building relationships, and supporting young people to take practical steps into leadership through sport.

- Coaching instructor qualifications or experience delivering sport sessions to young people.
- Lived experience of one or more of the underserved communities we work with i.e. D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent, women and girls, ethnically diverse communities and low socio‑economic backgrounds.
