Job Details:
  • Salary: £105,504 - £139,882 per annum
  • Contract: Substantive
  • Hours: Full-time: 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5)
  • On call: None
  • Location: Wood Street Health Centre, 6 Linford Road, Walthamstow, London, E17 3LA.
Qualifications needed:
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • CCT or equivalent
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST

We are recruiting for a Community Consultant Paediatrician in the Waltham Forest Specialist Children Service, based at Wood Street Health Centre. This is a substantive, full-time post (10 PAs) with responsibilities including a Named Doctor for Safeguarding role. Support is provided by experienced colleagues and the Designated Doctor for Safeguarding in Waltham Forest.

Job responsibilities

You will be expected to:

  1. Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to babies, children, and young people across Waltham Forest.
  2. Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  3. Work directly with patients and families, liaising with external health providers and hospitals as appropriate.
  4. Participate in the local Child Protection rota.
  5. Support peers and team leaders, working collaboratively with initiative.
  6. Collaborate with other health and social professionals and agencies.

  • GMC: Full registration with a licence to practice (Essential)
  • CCT: CCT or equivalent (Essential)
  • Specialist Register: Inclusion or eligibility within 6 months of CCST (Essential)
