Job summary

Acis Group is seeking a Community Connector to support individuals facing loneliness, low confidence, or mental health challenges. This part-time role (7.5 hours/week) covers Wellbeing Hubs and local venues across Lincolnshire, delivering activities and personalised support to strengthen communities.

You will work with partners, people with lived experience, and local services to create stronger, more resilient communities and monitor impact using outcomes-based approaches.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to build and manage community partnerships.
• Engage with the community to expand Wellbeing Hub and Satellite offers.
• Solid knowledge of mental health conditions and available therapies and support.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills for a busy workload.
• Able to apply the 5 Steps to Wellbeing to service developments.
• Full UK driving licence with access to transport and willingness to work across Lincolnshire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of learning and social activities across Wellbeing Hubs and satellite venues.

As a Community Connector, you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals who may be experiencing loneliness, low confidence, or poor mental health, helping them access the opportunities, support, and connections they need to thrive. Working across our Wellbeing Hubs and local community venues, you'll deliver engaging activities, provide personalised support, and bring people together to create stronger, more resilient communities. This role is 7.5 hours per week covering one day; which day that is can be discussed at interview.

As a Community Connector a typical day might include:

• Delivering a range of learning and social activities within our Wellbeing Hubs and satellite venues that meet the needs of the local community and those suffering mental ill-health, low confidence and loneliness.
• Providing holistic support for our customers, offering them the opportunity to explore different areas of life that might be impacting on their mental health and wellbeing, including their mental and physical health, relationships, education and employment, accommodation and finance.
• Develop community-led events and activities to engage and connect key communities and partners to projects, making best use of the available community assets and driving peer support for community groups and community leaders.
• Support the involvement of people with lived experience of mental health in the co-design, delivery and monitoring of support and activities.
• Undertake assessment, action planning and regular support reviews with customers, ensuring we provide a holistic and personalised approach to support, monitor and measure impact and progress and ensure success e.g., through using the Outcomes Star assessment.
• Support our customers, helping them to achieve better mental health and wellbeing, increasing independence and reducing reliance on statutory services.
• Refer customers into wider service offers and those of local support partners to provide a truly holistic and personalised package of support that meets customer needs.
• Build on the increased levels of social action and the willingness for people to support their communities.
• Ensure support reaches out to vulnerable, deprived and isolated members of society and identify ways to enhance access and reduce barriers.
• Help to facilitate grass roots problem solving and take an asset-based approach to building and connecting communities together to become stronger and resilient.
• Reconnect people with their communities, understanding not only what communities provide but how to make the best use of community assets.
• Listen to the local community, uncover what is important and what will lead to the greatest impact for a community and local services.
• Proactively engaging and representing CLIP through attendance at networks, conferences and events.
• Provide support and activities for people to achieve better mental health and wellbeing, increasing independence and reducing reliance on statutory services.

The must haves:

• Strong skills in building and managing community partnerships
• Ability to engage with the community to build the offer of the Wellbeing Hub and Satellites
• Sound knowledge of mental health conditions and associated therapies and support available
• Very good time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload
• Able to apply the 5 Steps to Wellbeing to developments in provision
• Full UK driving licence with access to transport and ability to work across Lincolnshire.
• Ability to work as a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Resilience. Working in social housing is a challenging but rewarding career. You’ll be helping to bring real change to our customers’ lives.

The added extras (this will make you stand out but theyre not essential):

• Middle management experience in education and/or health settings
• Teacher trained – DET/Cert Ed/PGCE/PTLLS/AET or equivalent, or willingness to achieve
• Experience of working in the post-16/adult education sector with training or qualifications in management, wellbeing, safeguarding, advice and guidance
• You’ll be adept at change, having got hands on experience living and breathing new ways of working and knowing how to bring your colleagues along for the experience
