Job description

At Retirement Villages Group, we are redefining retirement living. As we open our brand-new village in West Byfleet, we’re looking for a passionate and proactive Community Engagement Co-ordinator to play a key role in building a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant community from the ground up.

This is your chance to be at the heart of something new - connecting people, creating meaningful experiences, and making our village a true community within a community.

The Role:

In the mobilisation phase, you will:

  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to promote the new village to the wider community
  • Support open days and community outreach events to showcase the village’s spaces and facilities
  • Build relationships with local community groups and influencers to encourage engagement and awareness
  • Develop a calendar of events and activities to help new residents connect and thrive

As the community grows, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of an inclusive programme of social, cultural and wellbeing activities
  • Support residents during their move-in journey, introducing them to peers and village life
  • Build communication channels and feedback loops that ensure residents feel heard, valued and engaged
  • Coordinate with volunteers, external partners and internal teams to deliver meaningful events and community services

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years of experience delivering excellent customer or community-focused services
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills – approachable, empathetic and confident in group settings
  • Creative and organised event planning ability, with attention to detail and clear follow-through
  • Experience working with older adults or in community roles is highly desirable.
  • Passionate about building connections, tackling challenges, and driving continuous improvement

Essential Qualifications:

  • Emergency First Aid at Work (or willingness to complete)
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, if applicable

Why Thrive Living?

  • Be a founding team member of an innovative new village concept in a thriving West Byfleet location
  • Work in a purpose-driven organisation focused on wellbeing, community and sustainability
  • Make a meaningful difference every day to the lives of residents and the local community
  • Join a collaborative, inclusive team that values your input and supports your growth

At Thrive Living, we live by six values:
