Job description

Our beautiful Cedars Retirement Village, based in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, is looking for a Community Co-ordinator on a 25-hour per week contract. Having just completed phase one of our redevelopment, we are looking better than ever and have more exciting plans for the coming months.

The Community Co-ordinator will take ownership of leading and developing events and activities. You will be responsible for resident and local community engagement, serving as the main point of contact for residents and communicating with them effectively. You will be the driving force behind maintaining exceptional levels of customer service for residents and their families.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Providing open and transparent communication between residents and the village management team through technology, newsletters, and bulletins.
  2. Collaborating with the village Residents' Association and its elected Committee and Officers.
  3. Facilitating the village community engagement plan.
  4. Assisting with the move-in process for new residents.
  5. Working with residents and village staff to ensure a varied programme of activities.
  6. Building relationships with external providers, suppliers, and organizations within the local community.

  1. Previous experience in arranging activities and events.
  2. A professional approach with high-quality standards.
  3. Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  4. Genuine interest in providing quality service to customers and residents.
  5. Enthusiastic, passionate, and able to build rapport easily.
  6. An awareness of basic Health & Safety.
  7. An approachable and empathetic manner.
