Job summary

Optimum Care Group is seeking a Community Care Worker in Carrickfergus to provide in-home support for vulnerable adults on a permanent basis. The role offers guaranteed hours and a clear path for progression.

You will assist with personal care, medication reminders, meals, light housekeeping and mobility support. A driving licence and access to a car are required, with training provided and a joining bonus upon starting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal washing, showering, bathing and dressing.
• Provide refreshments and light snacks.
• Prompt and administer medication as required.
• Assist with light cleaning, shopping, laundry and related daily tasks.
• Support safe mobility using aids if needed.
• Provide care sitting to give respite to family carers.
• Encourage client independence and dignity in daily living.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist with personal washing, showering, bathing/bed bathing, dressing/undressing.
• Provide refreshments and light snacks.
• Prompt and administer medication.
• Assist with practical support such as light cleaning, fire lighting, and shopping, dish-washing, laundry, cleaning and maintaining spectacles, false teeth and hearing aids.
• Assist client to move safely which may require the use of moving and handling aids such as hoists and slide sheets.
• Provide a care sitting service to give respite to other carers such as family members.
• Encourage and promote client independence and choice, and uphold client rights and dignity.

Shift Patterns

Day Shift: 7am – 6pm / Evening Shift: 6pm – 11pm

To provide adequate care for our clients, you should be available to complete a full shift. Please note this role requires you to be available to work weekday and weekend shifts.
