Job summary

St Elizabeth's Centre in Hertfordshire is seeking a Community Bus Driver to provide safe, reliable transport for adults with complex needs to our Community Hub and activities.

You will bring substantial driving experience with larger vehicles, hold a valid UK driving licence (B, BE and D1) and a MiDAS certificate (or be willing to train). You will ensure safety, dignity and person-centered service on every journey.

Qualifications

• Substantial driving experience with larger vehicles.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence (B, BE and D1).
• MiDAS certificate (or willingness to undertake training).
• For insurance purposes, the post holder should be over 25.
• Experience in a care or education environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport clients and their support staff to and from community activities and leisure trips.
• Provide a friendly, professional and respectful service that puts passenger wellbeing first.
• Secure wheelchairs and specialist equipment safely before travel.
• Plan journeys effectively, taking account of timings, traffic conditions and individual passenger needs.
• Assist passengers safely when boarding and exiting vehicles where required.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any concerns promptly.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean, safe and presentable condition.
