Role
This position is based in London and reports to the Area Manager.
Description
We are seeking a full-time Barista for one of our London locations. You should be motivated by making a positive impact on people's working lives and understand how to enhance the hospitality experience. Attitude is as important as experience. Hospitality background is preferred but not essential if you embody the qualities below. This role offers opportunities for growth, learning, and development, serving as a potential stepping stone for a career in Hospitality & Operations, supported by the tools and pathways we provide.
Role specifics
As a Barista, your responsibilities will include supporting our members and managing the café space within our building. Specific duties include:
● Being the face of your building - managing the café during key hours, ensuring it is organized and welcoming, and providing support to visitors.
● Café Management & Equipment - preparing and selling coffee, demonstrating product knowledge, and educating customers on brewing methods. Experience with industrial coffee machines like La Marzocco Linea PB and Mahlkonig grinders is preferred.
● Cocktail Club - managing monthly events to foster member engagement and meet revenue targets, with creative freedom in menu offerings.
● Hygiene Champion - maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene at the café and barista station.
● Inventory - keeping supplies stocked, tracking, auditing, and ordering as needed.
● The Centre of the Community - learning members' names and roles to facilitate meaningful connections and support their business growth.
● Know your building and area - providing information on building policies, local amenities, and services.
● Bespoke Experience - delivering personalized, high-quality service by understanding members' preferences and feedback.
● Consistent Auditing - conducting daily checks to ensure service quality and escalate issues proactively.
Additional responsibilities include:
● Event Support - facilitating community events.
● Product Knowledge - understanding Techspace offerings and advising members accordingly.
● Mail Handling - managing incoming mail and deliveries efficiently.
● Assisting with move-ins and move-outs - preparing welcome materials and ensuring smooth onboarding.
● 5-star Service Delivery - continuously seeking improvement in service quality.
● Support & Service Recovery - responding to support requests and troubleshooting issues.
● Safety & Security - understanding emergency procedures and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
