Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Community Addictions Psychiatric Charge Nurse
What you will do:
Prospective candidates will be based within the North Ayrshire Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service (NADARS) within Caley Court Resource Centre in Stevenston. The post covers all of North Ayrshire, including the islands of Arran and Cumbrae.
You will have community experience in supporting people with the most chaotic and complex drug and alcohol dependence, who also have co-morbid mental health presentations, in line with the Medication Assisted Treatment standards. Displaying a positive attitude towards enhancing an individual’s recovery journey, within a drug and alcohol service, is essential.
You will work as part of a health and social care integrated team and show willingness to engage in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge base and experience, to promote your continuing professional development. It is desirable that you will be a non-medical prescriber and have experience in delivering psychosocial interventions.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Prospective candidates will be RMN qualified and possess a full driving licence.
You will develop an individual caseload and make autonomous decisions with regard to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred interventions and care planning.
Prospective candidates will offer line management and clinical supervision to support Staff Nurses, Support Workers and Student Nurses; to ensure a high standard and quality of care to clients and to assist in the development of junior staff towards becoming autonomous practitioners.
You will also promote and enhance the already established recovery networks across North Ayrshire and enhance links with both voluntary and statutory agencies to provide comprehensive, integrated recovery pathways.
Hours: 37 per week - The post is full time (37 hours per week) – however, the service is amenable to considering part time hours if suitable.
The post requires the flexibility to work evenings and weekends, when required.
UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
UK Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
