Job Description
Calls can come at any time, so there is a core shift pattern which covers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Communications Operators answer emergency and non-emergency calls and direct resources across the County.
As one of the team, you’ll receive extensive training and on-the-job support to prepare you for the challenging variety of calls and roles ahead.
No matter what type of call comes in, your compassion, patience and professionalism must remain and that means thinking on your feet whilst providing reassurance and obtaining the relevant information to enable the correct deployment of appropriate police responses as necessary.

The starting salary for this role, including shift allowance, is £34,329, increasing to £40,893 after 3 years.
The application process involves an application form, an assessment (including a typing test) and if successful at assessment an interview. We are recruiting for a pool of people for intakes over the next six to twelve months.
