Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: London WC1H

(Hybrid, flexible working practices with 20% office-based)

The ACU offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in higher education. We are a diverse international network of over 400 universities across 40+ countries, championing higher education's power to improve lives and supporting sustainable development across the Commonwealth and beyond.

The ACU has managed international scholarship schemes for nearly 60 years, including for the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC), funded by the UK government and others.

The role

Effective communication is key to showcasing the CSC’s work. The Communications Officer will support the delivery of its communications strategy and raise the profile of the CSC.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Act as a business partner for CSC, planning, delivering, and editing content for target audiences.
  2. Edit content for impact, accuracy, and style guidelines.
  3. Manage and update content on the CSC website.
  4. Maintain CSC’s social media channels.
  5. Create email newsletters.
  6. Market student and alumni events and communicate outcomes.
  7. Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
Who are we looking for?

You will need:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence and understand diverse audiences and cultural contexts.
  • Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in editing and proofreading content.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience managing content across multiple platforms using CMS (especially WordPress).
  • Experience with email marketing platforms like MailChimp.
  • Proven success in multichannel marketing and communications campaigns.
