Communications Officer This is your opportunity to join our busy, creative and ambitious communications team. We are looking for a talented Communications Officer to help tell our stories, engage our communities and support the council's priorities. In this role, you will support high-profile projects, campaigns and services across the council, helping colleagues and residents understand and engage with the council's work through accessible and meaningful communications. North West Leicestershire District Council is a busy council, working across our communities. The Communications Officer will lead on all comms activity for allocated council teams, planning and evaluating communications and engagement activities in line with our corporate values and priorities.
You will identify opportunities to promote the council's work, providing written content for a range of platforms, managing media enquiries, developing digital content, and supporting the production of high-quality graphic design. Working alongside experienced communications professionals, you'll help to create communication packages that are clear, consistent and aligned with the council's values and priorities. You will have excellent communication skills, strong news judgement and a talent for turning complex information into engaging content. Furthermore, you will have proven experience of working in a communications, marketing or PR role and/or a relevant qualification. You will enjoy working across multiple projects, thrive in a busy environment and understand how effective communications can support the council's work and maintain its reputation.
