The Independent Schools Council is seeking a communications professional to lead strategy development in collaboration with the Head and Senior Leadership Team, and to oversee the hands-on writing and delivery of key communications. The role requires absolute confidentiality, diplomacy, and exceptional organisational skills.
You must be an excellent communicator with experience in a communications function and a keen interest in working with young people.
This role is focused on communications as well as stakeholder engagement. The remit of the role is broad in that it covers developing the communication strategy with the Head and SLT, as well as overseeing the operational implementation and writing communications hands-on.
This role requires absolute confidentiality as well as the use of diplomacy and sensitivity at all times. You must be an excellent communicator and have exceptional administrative and organisational skills.
Previous experience of working in a communications function is required and a genuine interest in working amongst young people is essential. Previous experience of working in a school is desirable. Flexibility is crucial to meet the demands of a busy school as is the ability to build effective relationships with staff, governors and the whole school community.
This is a permanent, term-time only role, (40 hours per week with an unpaid hour for lunch), 8am4pm, term time plus 2 weeks. All staff inset days should be attended plus two additional weeks to be worked in the school holidays.
