Reports to: Marketing Director | Location: London, hybrid | Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Senior Communications Manager to drive our partnerships, PR and social media strategy. Partnerships sit at the heart of this role: building relationships with brand-aligned organisations, media titles and individuals – with the aim of driving customer acquisition and targeted awareness. The successful candidate will have a flair for relationship building and storytelling, and will come with experience building and executing partnerships that deliver proven commercial results. You'll build our earned media presence with major UK & US media titles and shape our voice across social platforms.
You will also have the opportunity to shape and drive the communications strategy for a second brand within the group - a new luxury group travel brand launching in 2027. You will work across both brands from day one.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Partnerships
- Build brand partnerships. Identify and develop partnerships with brand-aligned organisations to drive customer acquisition and targeted awareness, across both brands as the second builds towards launch.
- Grow our Group of Experts. Identify, approach and sign new experts and tastemakers, prioritising individuals whose audiences and influence can drive community growth and customer acquisition. These individuals will work with us on the design and amplification of new journeys.
- Nurture existing talent. Act as the primary relationship owner for our group of Experts, building lasting, trusted relationships that draw out added value, such as new collaborations, content and advocacy.
- Identify and manage new paid media partnership opportunities to generate awareness and demand from the pre-qualified audiences of brand-aligned media titles.
- Commercial mindset. Work closely with the Product and Sales teams to ensure brand and expert partnerships translate into commercially viable journeys.
PR
- Build journalist relationships. Develop and maintain direct relationships with journalists across major media titles to drive earned media coverage.
- Write and distribute press releases for all new product and journey launches, ensuring messaging is accurate, on-brand and pitched to the right titles and writers.
- Manage press trips, from itinerary design through to logistics, briefing and hosting, ensuring each trip reflects our standards of access and experience.
- Coordinate press events, from concept, venue scouting and guest list through to delivery and follow-ups.
Community Development
- Social platform management. Create and manage all content across our social platforms, with Instagram and LinkedIn as first priority, ensuring every post reflects our tone of voice and visual standards.
- Develop a content calendar that balances brand storytelling, expert and journey content, and timely, reactive posts.
- Grow our social community. Devise brand-strengthening opportunities to grow our audiences on social media through a regular series of differentiated content in partnership with experts, tastemakers and likeminded brands.
- Report on performance. Provide regular reporting on community growth and engagement, translating metrics into recommendations that sharpen the content strategy.
- Develop a network of content creators that we can trust to capture brand-aligned content around new itineraries.
- Develop content guidelines to share with content creators to facilitate the seamless creation of itinerary content.
- Shape new platform strategies. Take the lead on how we show up on Reddit - an opportunity to build this channel from the ground up. Keep an eye out for emerging social media platforms that could offer a community development opportunity.
Other
- Cultural calendar alignment. Keep a close eye on the cultural calendar in our key markets, identifying opportunities for reactive product development, storytelling, events and client hosting.
- Competitor insights. Monitor activity from travel competitors and luxury peers, reporting interesting trends and innovations internally to inspire new ideas.
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience in a senior communications role for a luxury or premium consumer brand.
- A track record of building and managing partnerships - with brands, individuals or both - that have delivered measurable commercial results.
- Preferred but not essential: an existing network of journalist contacts across major consumer, travel and lifestyle titles. Critically, the willingness to proactively identify and nurture new media relationships.
