Job summary

Sidney Stringer Academy in Coventry is seeking a Communication & Interaction Practitioner to support pupils with autism and related communication needs, delivering targeted speech and language interventions within a secondary setting.

The role is 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days, 8:30am–4:00pm, with opportunities for professional development and collaboration with parents and other professionals to secure positive learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or demonstrable equivalent experience in supporting speech, language, and communication needs.
• Evidence of commitment to continued professional development.
• Proven experience delivering speech, language and communication interventions to students in secondary education.
• Experience working with autistic children and young people within an educational setting.
• Experience collaborating with parents and other professionals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a dynamic approach to secure positive outcomes for learners.
• A strong commitment to empowering young people and building meaningful connections.
