Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is seeking a Psychology & Speech and Language Support Assistant for a SEN school in Maidenhead. You will support children aged 4–19 with ASC and SLCN, delivering targeted communication interventions within a nurturing, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists, teachers, and support staff to embed strategies across lessons, using visual supports such as PECS and Makaton, and to help pupils build confidence, independence

Qualifications

  • Degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Speech Sciences, Education, or Child Development.
  • Genuine interest in communication, autism, and special educational needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive.
  • Able to travel to Maidenhead.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group communication interventions to support children’s speech, language, and social skills.
  • Use autism-friendly strategies, including visual aids, PECS, Makaton, and social stories.

Location: Maidenhead

Contract: Full-time, term-time only (long-term)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £88–£115 per day

A highly regarded specialist SEN school in Maidenhead is seeking a Psychology & Speech and Language Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. The school supports children and young people aged 4–19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

You will work in a nurturing, inclusive, and collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team, including Speech and Language Therapists (SALTs), Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists, and specialist teachers.
