Job summary

RWE Supply & Trading GmbH in Swindon invites you to join its Communications & Events team for a year-long placement, starting July 2027, at the UK HQ. You will craft internal communications and help plan events, developing skills across corporate affairs and stakeholder engagement.

We seek penultimate-year students in English, Communications, Media Studies or related degrees, with fluent English, strong organisation, and a collaborative spirit.

If you are passionate about storytelling and believe in the power of effective communication, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As part of our team, you will help shape and deliver creative internal communication initiatives that bring the strategies of RWEST and the wider RWE Group to life for our employees. Working closely with experienced communications professionals, you will contribute to engaging campaigns, content development and employee communications across a range of channels. You will also gain hands-on experience in the planning and delivery of events, supporting the team in creating impactful employee experiences that inform, connect and inspire colleagues across the business.

The team sits within the broader Corporate Affairs function, giving you a unique opportunity to develop a strong understanding of RWEST and gain exposure to a wide variety of business topics, projects and stakeholder groups. This placement offers valuable insight into both strategic communications and event management within a leading international energy trading company.

Job requirements and experiences

We’re looking for students who are in the penultimate year of an English, Communications, Media Studies, Event Management or similar degree who are ideally on course to achieve a 2:1 or higher. What you must have is:
