Job description

Ansaldo Nuclear Ltd is the largest independent turnkey provider of nuclear engineering, manufacturing and services in the UK, and part of Ansaldo Nucleare SpA.
The Company's involvement in the nuclear industry began with the construction of the first nuclear reactor in the UK for the Dounreay Power Plant. Since then, Ansaldo Nuclear Ltd has supplied an extensive range of equipment and solutions to most UK nuclear power stations - including fuel route, remote handling, inspection equipment, encapsulation and waste handling.
Ansaldo Nuclear Ltd also operates in the defence sector.

Communications Co-ordinator

Responsible for supporting the implementation of the company marketing and communications strategy. Coordinating the delivery of the Communications function across Internal & External, face to face and online. A key aspect of the role will be the creation & delivery of compelling content that engages employees & external stakeholders and strengthens the company's culture. The post holder will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure all communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company's goals and values.

Key Activities / Decision Areas
  1. Co-ordination and Delivery of regular content requirements; lunch and learns, social media, internal MD communications (Video), intranet, marketing print materials, corporate presentations.
  2. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications initiatives and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
  3. Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure that communications are timely and relevant.
  4. Maintain the company's communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company's goals and values.
  5. Identify opportunities to promote employee engagement and help foster a positive company culture.
  6. Staying up to date with the latest industry trends and new technology.
Other Duties
  1. Planning & Strategy Support
  2. Coordinate internal events and other initiatives to promote employee engagement and strengthen the company culture.
  3. Produce marketing content for specific targeted events.
  4. Creation of credible content on behalf of senior stakeholders across the organisation.
  5. Ensure all copy is engaging, informative, and tailored to the intended audience.
  6. Setting up & running of brand awareness campaigns focused around target customers, recruitment & engineering projects.
  7. Other ad hoc projects as directed by the Head of Personal Development & Communications.
Essential Role Related Knowledge, Technical Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related field (in house or at an agency).
  • Strong project management & administrative skills.
  • Experience with content creation and delivery, including email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Knowledge of best practices for communications.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing and maintaining communication tools (internal email software, intranet, etc.).
  • Comfortable using initiative to engage with the needs of the organisation.
  • Able to create a good first impression with employees of different levels of seniority.
Desirable
  • Excellent writing (including copywriting) and editing skills.
  • Experience of video production & photography.

The role is office based, in Wolverhampton (Hybrid working available). This role is suitable for someone who has worked in a similar role in communications or marketing previously. There is potential for progression in this role to a more strategic role and to develop professional skills.

Salary and Benefits

£30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Scottish Widows Pension - 5% employer + 5% employee contributions
Death in Service life insurance - 3x salary
Annual Leave 25 days plus bank holidays
Annual leave buy and sell (up to a maximum of 5 days)
Paid leave to attend medical appointments - up to 2 hours - (discretional paid time for medical appointments undergoing investigation at the hospital)
ADO - opportunity to accrue additional 5 days off each year for hours worked over (sanctioned by Line Manager)
