Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Ltd in London is seeking a Communication Support Worker (BSL) to provide in-class BSL/communication support for deaf and hard of hearing students, helping them access learning.

The role involves adapting learning materials, working with teachers and support staff, supporting students with EHCPs, promoting deaf awareness, and assisting during trips and wider activities.

Qualifications

• BSL Level 3 minimum qualification.
• Strong signing skills and experience supporting deaf/hard of hearing people.
• Experience in an education setting is preferred.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities; student-focused.
• Able to adapt learning materials and support curriculum.

The Role

• Promote deaf awareness across the college.

About You

You’ll need:

• BSL Level 3 minimum.
• Strong signing skills.
• Experience supporting deaf/hard of hearing people.
• Ideally, experience within an education setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A flexible and student-focused approach.
