Job description

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and motivated professional to become part of The Autism Inclusion Team.

We are seeking to appoint a full-time (32.5 hours) peripatetic Communication Support Worker (CSW) starting in September 2025.

This position is based in Burton and Tamwortheducation settings.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

• collaborate closely with the Specialist Teacher and fellow CSW colleagues, supporting students across mainstream settings from Nursery to Post 16.
• have day to day responsibility of a designated casework area, supporting settings to meet the needs of Autistic children/young people, which may include resourced schools.
• teach the relevant skills required (which may include individual teaching, support teaching, advisory, preparation of learning materials) ensuring maximum curricular access.
• assist in ensuring the social and emotional needs of the Autistic child / young person are appropriately managed by supporting pupils, schools / settings and parents / carers.
• promote and build capacity by delivering training for schools and other settings and agencies.
• support the Team Lead in the development and delivery of commissioning and traded aspects of the service delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

• be an experienced teaching assistant, communication support worker, or teacher with a strong background in supporting Autistic learners in educational environments.
• be passionate about inclusion and committed to neuro-affirming approaches that empower every child to thrive and reach their full potential.

Although this role is based within settings in Burton and Tamworth, there might be incidences of cover support required around the county, plus attendance at team meetings at the central Stafford base
