A primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Communication Support Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA to work within an ASD specialist class supporting children with high levels of autism and complex communication needs.You will work as part of a supportive classroom team, helping pupils access learning, develop their communication skills and become more independent throughout the school day. The successful candidate will ideally have experience using PECS and/or Makaton. The school is also happy to consider candidates who have strong experience supporting children with autism and practical experience using at least one of these communication approaches.You will support pupils with their individual communication needs, helping them communicate their choices, needs and emotions while encouraging positive interaction with staff and peers.
