Job summary

Qualiteach Education Group in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Communication Support Teaching Assistant to join a primary ASD-specialist class from September. You will help pupils access learning, support communication development using PECS and/or Makaton, and promote independence.

The role focuses on high autism needs, with a supportive team and easy public transport access. This on-site position requires enthusiasm and patience to engage pupils throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience using PECS and/or Makaton is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting children with autism in ASD settings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in accessing learning and developing communication skills.
• Encourage independence and positive interaction with staff and peers throughout the day.
